Teaching

I believe in an active classroom, where students have the opportunity to engage in practices that will advance their ability to understand and evaluate the social world in which we live. By employing a flipped classroom style, class time focuses on application of skills, exploration of complex ideas, and peer discussion and collaboration. I assign iterative assessments with the primary goal of promoting student growth, where students have the opportunity to correct and build upon their early-stage understandings. An inclusive classroom is my priority, which involves multiple modes of learning and mutually agreed-upon standards of respect and care for people of all identities and backgrounds.
